So have you cracked the code on the monogram and matched it to some famous person? You do realize that’s the next step, don’t you, even if that famous person never left London and you found it in Parumph, Nevada?

    Lots of great info!
I couldn't find mention of polish cloths, what's the consensus on those?

    Hi,
I use the cloths on jewelry and such. For bigger pieces I always polish.

You can get sunshine cloths on line, or from any of the big jewelry component sellers like Fire Mountain. They're not horribly expensive.

For small pieces of jewelry I've been known to just use a thumb, if the piece is small.

He does mention some polishing cloths by name on his 'Warning!' list, including a couple I've used over the years, and I've used Wright's too. Jeff Herman knows his stuff, he is a silversmith, restorer, and conservator with immense respect for silver, has done considerable research, and explains the reasons for his cautions and suggestions - his 'silver care' page is invaluable. That said, I've used many of the 'bad' products over the years with no ill results that I can see, but I'm not generally dealing with museum pieces...

Wow, a dream find, I passed on some beat up Sterling weighted candlesticks the other day. That is the holy grail of Sterling Imo.
