Good morning. I recently inherited this plate. I have no idea about this history of this item (e.g. manufacturing company, piece dating, etc.). If anyone has any insights, that would be most appreciated. With regards, Jon

Just making your plate bigger. Next time go to the top of your photos and click "Inset every image as Full Image"

I think that the very bottom of your mark says "Hand Painted ------------- Japan"

While you are waiting for someone with real expertise, you might look for your mark here:

I think it's Satsuma, but I didn't find the mark. It does say Made In above Japan. There are many similar ones in an image search, so I was wondering what the story is behind the scene. Some listings call it moriage, but it's enamel, by the way.

Thank you. Much appreciated. I had seen this web site, but I was not able to match the mark. I will try again. With warm regards, Jon

Makes your eyeballs go crazy. :) @janetpjohn has given you a starting point, so you can concentrate on searching for Satsuma "style" marks. [Edited - Corrected after @blooey's post] You might try Modern Japanese Porcelain Marks too. I have found marks using that search term.

It's decorated in the Satsuma style but of course it isn't Satsuma as it's porcelain, not pottery.

These types of wares come up when you google Satsuma moriage immortals - maye try this and see if any have the same mark.
