The dark part is just a shadow

Hi there ! We have quite a few pieces of furniture similarly made to this I.e. wardrobes, a big dresser etc.

I was just wondering if anyone can tell what this particular piece is ? How much is it worth etc? And my best method of selling such pieces?

    Thank you @

    Welcome Annie.
It looks like the bottom part is for records (vinyl), is it high enough to fit them, do you think? In that case the drawers could be for sheet music.
The furniture people will need to see more pictures, and know dimensions.

Hello Annie & welcome. Folks who actually know something about furniture will come along, but I'll start by observing that the bottom locking section is designed to hold files, so doesn't seem like bedroom furniture. Also the drawers seem shallow. How deep are they? How tall is the piece overall?

Great! The 'furnies' are also likely to want to see anything that shows how it was put together, such as how fronts of drawers attach to sides. Maybe best wait until they tell you specifically what they need.

You could use the bottom for vinyl record albums now, but this compartment locks. Of course some people are very fussy about allowing others to play their records.

Looks like office furniture to me but could see this for records and sheet music if the size is right. Value will depend on where and how you intend to sell.

My partner is saying that his grandparents used it in their dining room for plates and silverware and seems quite adamant that it's correct use ahah. But office furniture does make a lot of sense.

Have seen shallow drawer silverware chests for flatware but none with these vertical files. Also, chests for flatware are usually lined.

Oh...bye the bye...it's really nice....looks very functional.....and the color is not that of all the brown furniture we deride here so often......you may get more for it that we'd suspect .....but like Brad says....where ya are...how you're selling it....these must be taken into account for it's fair market value !
