I picked these up at an estate sale. 1 is beaded with leather and the other 2 are a different color turquoise? Would anyone know what tribe might have done these?

The beaded one is a Thunderbird and the other 2 .....well I don't see turquoise or anything to suggest they are 1st Nation made.

Thanks, I know there are a few different colors for turquoise. It just doesn't come in blue I think

Blues, greens, and even some with brown matrix, from many different old and newer mines.....but I'm just not seeing that here.

Just wondering what was making you think they are NA.

    Perhaps a Boy Scout project.

I remember my dad and grand dad both wore both wore bolo ties. I just went browsing on ebay to see what I could see.:) It looks like some of the beaded ties are being represented as NA without a tribal or artist name. I thought you couldn't do that but I haven't checked in awhile. Anyway, here is at least one that had an artist listed.

The beaded one -- I had the exact same thunderbird design (same colours) on a little beaded coin purse I had back in the 1960s. I just had a "shock of recognition" when I saw it!

The stones are definitely not turquoise. Like komokwa said re: various colors. There is a rare buffalo turquoise that is white with veins .;)

I think the formed sheet-metal channels, glued onto the stones, are a big clue that this is not traditional N.A. anything. Try to find a photo of any N.A. wearing one of those.

I was wondering if those were silver.

I admit that I was wondering about the one that looks hammered.

I think they both look hammered. When I was a kid we lived in AZ and there was a lot of stuff made of silver (from Mexico and NA) and it wasn't all very highly valued. Actually silver prices have been falling and falling so silver is not as highly valued now as a short time ago:(

Now don't misquote me, I wrote "Try to find a photo of any N.A. wearing one of those." And you did! Congrats.
