Is there a name for this contraption? The shelves rotate and it has 3 lights.. I have never seen one like this. If anyone knows the manufacturer and year of manufacturer that would be great.

    Thanks In advance.

Have not seen any quite like this either. Would think 40s. Where and how is the lamp stem attached? Can't really tell from your photos.

Looks to me like just UNDER the top there is a piece that probably swivels.....am betting the lamp is attached to an extension of THAT!! Just my WAG!!!!!! But on trying to blow up the image, I SO could be wrong!!!!! Lamp could also be attached to the back section/extension of the tri-spindle-shelf??? Also looks like the electrical cord comes out of the bottom of the center post...........

Contraption is about the size of it. I think it's a bit later; this sort of thing popped up when the WWII guys got married and started buying houses.

OOOOOH, my first guess was right!!!! Thank you Lucy for posting that new image!! I'm not sure ANY of us have ever seen one like it!!!!! I think that's cool how the lamp is attached!! But haven't a clue as to age....looks to be in EXCELLENT condition though!! Especially if it's from the late forties to early fifties as suggested above!!!

You can absolutely ask....HOWEVER....many are reluctant to try and answer, since there are SO many variables......are you in the U.S., if so, which part, just for starters.....and since no-one has seen one like it, they also have nothing to go on!! The condition looks great....it DOES have that going for it, and it definitely is unique, and probably from around the early 1950's.......which puts it in the vicinity of 65+/- years old.....not really an antique.....And what kind of a venue would you be selling it in?? Generally people won't want to pay much at a yard sale is my feeling. As you can guess I am reluctant to venture a guess.....let's see if we can pull a couple back in....if they'll take a shot....meanwhile get back with where you are....roughly!

    Rastella Everything is figureoutable.

Maybe a phone table? Maybe made for the lobby of a hotel? Just guessing but it brought back the memories of those huge old phone books people had to store near their rotary phones.

Thank you. I understand. I am in northern NJ. Now don't hold that against me now. ;)

The tripod part rotates. I think it's a book rack of sorts.

Given fairly close proximity to the NYC metro area, I could see this priced $200-300.00 at retail (maybe more in a very fancy shop with the right clientele). If selling via Craigslist or similar venues, I think you would need to be more flexible. Here in my Midwest location, this would likely sell for under $200.00.
