Gold Plated Picture Frame ?

    Took a photo of the marks on this lovely gold and mahagony picture frame cant make them out and wondered could someone have a look and see if they recognise the stamps on it thank you. P2070358.JPG P2070361.JPG

    It's all a jumble to me except the first 3 letters look to me like DOR. D'or is French for 'of gold'. What follows immediately after could explain how the gold was applied. 'Dorure' is the word for 'gilt'.

    I wouldn't be surprised if it were gold-plated sterling; the mark is a complete mess but vermeil turns up every so often. I'd look inside the frame, pop the back and look around the edges of the photo compartment, and see what you see.

    There's nothing round the back of the picture frame , can't find anything on gold plating marked in thickness of 1000 anywhere.I have seen something similar on jewellery but can't remember exactly .

    I think it's plated in 24k gold, but beyond that....not a clue.

    Still looking some help with this gold plated frame as I haven't seen anything that looks like it any help greatly appreciated.
