Greetings one and all

    Hamburger Absolute Beginner

    Hi everyone from Hamburg, Germany. (Yes, I too was surprised that the user name was still available!)

    I'm originally from England, but have been in Germany for a few years and previously spent a decade in Texas.

    It's already a certainty that I'm likely to learn far more than I contribute here, so thanks in advance for putting up with me. I don't have a background in art or antiques, but have spent quite a lot of time these past few years trying to identify items left by parents who are no longer around to ask what on earth they are... Questions I post here will be about items that have defeated me thus far, starting today or tomorrow with some (African?) carved figures.
