I have an incense spoon with a language I can't identify. Also, a perfume bottle with marks I can't identify. Can anyone help with these?

Hi and WELCOME, hypoeddy! Those that use cell phones to view this site (and there ARE many), have a hard time viewing thumbnails, so, it would be MOST helpful if you would go back and edit yours!! Hopefully this mini tutorial will help. Lots of us had difficulty getting our images up when we were first on the site!! MANY THANKS!!!! And good luck!! There are many here who should be able to help with your items! Always post several images....front, back, top bottom, clear closeups of marks or printing, plain backgrounds are best, keep each image UNDER 1 MB, and you'll be off to a good start!!!

The perfume bottle is pre-1978 Mexican, assayed in Mexico City. The spoon is made to look like an Arabic-language coin. No clue if it really is or where from.

    Welcome to the forum hypoeddy.
The script on the spoon is Arabic, but non-Arabic languages also use it.
@Mohammad H would you be so kind to tell us if the language is Arabic or something else?

Hello .. yes it's Arabic.. I can read most of it

The first writing on the behind of the spoon says ( ضرب في سنة ) it's mean .. it was Instrument or made in year ... I can't read the year

The other writing on the face of the spoon says (السلطان ) it's mean sultan .. I think its ottomans.. I can read down ( السلطان محمود) it's mean ...Al sultan mahmoud but I don't if he was mahmoud I or mahmoud II ..
The wirting says.. it was made in sultan mahmoud era.. the first ruled from 1730 till 1754 .. the second ruled from 1808 till 1839

    I hope that help

So.. could this spoon have actually been made sometime between 1730 and 1830? If so, is it something valuable? I don't know much about antiques but I'd be inclined to think it must be some kind of tourist fake or replica or something. Also... what kind of value does the perfume bottle have? Thanks so much for your input. I wish I had access to you guys when I had some extremely ornate and valuable furniture left over from when a relative passed away.

We would have to see the entire spoon. But it is probably a souvenir with a reference to the period when the Ottoman empire was most powerful. There would have to be original spoons like this, for it to be a fake or replica.

Looks like brass, a copper alloy. Could be for incense, could be for salt or condiments, my guesstimate is 1960s.
