Hi all. I’m from southern Maine. After my mom broke 2 bones in her back and my dad was found to have dementia I moved in with them. They are happy to have me here and have lots and lots of stuff to be sorted through...though I’ve managed to move quite a bit of items out of their 3 barns and a basement, much remains. I’m running into odds and ends...antique items and tools that I just have no idea of their value. Whatever I can sell goes towards me supporting my parents so they can live the rest of their days at home. I look forward to conversing with you, and hopefully I could even be of some use to this community. Best regards. Thank you.
Hi Matrix, welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your mom and dad, difficult times for all of you, and I am sure they are very happy to have you there. Sorting through their stuff must bring back many memories as well. Just post anything, we will help with information if we can.
Welcome. This is a great site to learn about antiques/collectibles. You can read other people's posts, and/or post your own. It is a very active site --every day has different items. Also will be helpful when you have time to post photos of items you have questions about. (P.S. hanging out here can be a fun break from day to day stresses, convenient as it is online. I hope things with your parents turn go well. Kind of you to step in to help.)
Welcome! Sorry all that is on you now. ~ This should help you to post photos though you may be able to drag & drop as well when you meet the size requirements. Always use the full image option too please. ~
Hello Matrix. Afraid an increasing number of people will need to find solutions for similar situations. I don't know where & what you had to leave to move in with your folks. Must be very demanding at times. Looking through the accumulation of their collective years is a whole new occupation. Just think of us as friendly co-workers.
