Hand Painted wood turned vase

I've never seen something like this before, but then I'm no expert.
Its a vase about 8 inches tall and appears to be made from wood turned on a lathe and then painted.
The paint appears to be a hard surface - maybe lacquer?
No identifying marks anywhere..
Any ideas, folks?

To tell you the truth, I don't think it is either.
Looks more like Tole painting. But I didn't find anything under German wood vase.

It's a type of Mexican toleware (batea,) usually produced in trays.

Love your avatar picture, a (Eurasian) lynx, one of my favourite animals. I live in the Netherlands and we occasionally get them here, just as visitors from Belgium and Germany. They never settle here, I guess the country is too densely populated for them.

 

Thanks...I assumed it was from North America.

 

It is on Wikimedia as a Eurasian lynx, and it looks like one, slightly different from its North American cousin. I like any lynx, though.

I have similar hand painted wood vase. Mine is 30 cm tall. The paint is covered with lacquer. No identifying mark. But I know it is Ukrainian (Russian artists also make such vases) production. Usually, they can be found in gift shops.

So what is it worth? I was thinking of trying it on ebay at $20.

By the way, it mentions the Canadian lynx and the Iberian lynx as the two main lynx species. There are in fact four main lynx species, the Canadian lynx, the bobcat, the Eurasian lynx, and the Pardellynx or Iberian lynx.
The Pardellynx/Iberian lynx is very rare, and is found in Spain and Portugal. It is smaller and more slender that the other species.
The Eurasian lynx is more numerous than the Pardellynx and is found in other parts of Europe and Asia.
