I see retro; I don't see old. What is the lining made off?

Are there any marks inside? It's a formal evening bag and it has an 80s look to the body, but that handle is straight out of the 60s. So...without interior labels it's hard to be sure. If there's a China label inside it's newer. The black sides look like vinyl, btw.

I remember the name "Richard Hudnut" in cosmetics back when I was an adolescent/teenager. If I ever had (bought with my babysitting money) any of his products it "might" have been a lipstick.;)

Seems to me a little on the large size for an evening bag (I use this term for things that are more like a minaudiére), especially if the handle does not fold down at all, but would not suit most women's daytime look, so for social occasions/nightlife, party times. That lime green was popular second half of the 60s - had a bag myself that used leather of a similar green. The rhinestones are more 70s, so would put it to 1965-75. Interior seems to be black vinyl that has stiffened with age; looks like some rhinestones have fallen away. Still, a great kitschy period piece & a lot of fun.

I'm seeing early 1980s. I had day handbags like that, we were wildly into bling. You should have seen my glasses! The colour is a real giveaway, too, as is the fabric mix.

    Richard rings a bell.
