I have what I think are a pair of type of pheasants. Dimensions are about 15" x 11" x 3/4".
    1. What type of pheasants do these represent?
    2. What are these pheasants made of?
    3. What decade do you think they are from?
Thank you for assistance to the few questions I have above. Rob

Chalkware. A ring-necked pheasant I'd think with a bit of creative license. These are typically late 1950s/early 1960s.

Chalkware is an American term for popular figurines either made of moulded plaster of Paris (usually) or sculpted gypsum, and painted, typically with oils or watercolors. They were primarily created during one of three periods: from the late 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century, during the Great Depression, and during the 'mid-century modern' era as decorative lamps, figurines and wall decor from the 1940s-1960s.

Although DEFINITELY MADE OF PLASTER OF PARIS, I would not call this "chalkware" but rather a pair of moulded home-made plaques of pheasants, nicely hand painted.

Technically, it is "chalkware" but images of chalkware remembered from past pieces don't jive at all with these plaques.

They run around here like chickens in their thousands all sitting in the road. That is until shooting season starts

Looks like the same birdie. In which case, contemporary not vintage.

They ARE CLOSE, but NOT EXACT!!! If you look carefully, you will see the differences..........STILL could have easily been a KIT....just a slightly different one!!!

Do you think $20 / pair is reasonable? Rob
