Yes it is similar, but I'm not certain the upholstery is original. The backing under the chairs is stapled. I may take it off of one of the chairs to see?

It seems likely your chairs have been reupholstered, but so then is the settee likely to have been also. But think something consistent with the original look would have been chosen. Not sure there is anything useful to be learned from dismantling one.

 

I like that the decoration down the sides of the hutch is not symmetrical. It matches up most of the time, but here & there the lineup differs.

 

Yes the hutch and buffet are both like that - not symmetrical in the carvings. I did see some pieces from R.J. Horner that were similar in style and fits the era but I see no markings on any of the pieces to confirm this. Thanks for all your help and correspondence!

 

Would think late 19th century. wood is oak. I do get a renaissance vibe from this and Germanic in origin.

 

Thank you for responding. I was thinking it was walnut just because it is so dark. Definitely something from renaissance revival from what I am seeing with more research.
