What style is this desk?

Well let’s see how this goes - first post here.
Have been using this auction find desk for storage for the past 20 years - finally getting around to re-finishing it. Can anyone tell me what style it is? Thanks in advance. Jay

 

Hi there. It's hard for me to see this as a desk. Where do your legs go when you pull up your chair? Or is one side of the bottom brace/shelf further in than the other? I don't know furniture, so I'm not asking as a critique, just how it would work as a desk?

 

Good question. It does look more like a table. May we have dimensions please?

I agree. My library table has a drawer that extends almost the length of the top. That function is kind of desk-like.

 

30" deep, 48" wide with a 28" draw across the front, 29" high.

I would consider that a table because it looks as if the lower shelf would get in the way of a desk chair.

Are there any markings inside? I like the metal hardware/pulls.

Did you look in the drawer?

 

I'm not a furniture expert, but those legs are unique and you would think it would make it easy. This is a tough one. An atypical Arts and Crafts style?
