I think they're both Victorian. The one with the round holder is missing some kind of glass shade.

    Welcome, John.
I must say, I have never heard of 17th century Gothic. But I agree with obb, both look 19th century. I wonder if the second one is upside down, the four holes could be for screws to hold a glass shade in place.

The other way around doesn't look right either.
I now wonder if it is a holder for something entirely different? Maybe something that goes from a top receptacle to a bottom one.
Is there a hole in the centre of the one that is shown top here?

Could it be a vapor lamp?

I remember selling a few several years back...........but remember nothing about them to be correct.

Quite right. Vapo-Cresoline was quack medicine back in the 1890s-1910s. I read about it back when I found one of the burners like the O.P.'s. It was supposed to help with breathing and congestion, but if memory serves it contained mercury, and was actually poisoning the folks it was supposed to be helping, who were usually children.

Those push up sticks may well be Georgian. 19th C chamberstick and also snuffing scissors.
