Looks NA to me. Can you take better pictures, please? I am just seeing tan blobs with NA swirly things. Can't even tell if it is old or new.
If it is old, as in centuries, this kind of design comes to mind, minus bird heads:

Thanks everyone for the comments the pottery came from a estate that contained a huge Native American collection with thousands of Native American artifacts but my dad didn't ask anything about the bowl so I thought I would try here ,and his phone camera stinks thanks again everyone .

Do you know if there were any Moundbuilder items in the collection? Ancient Southeast, Mississipi River, Ohio River areas?
That is what this could be, if I interpret the swirly blob correctly.;)

I'm wondering if it's Maricopa. I'll pull out a couple of books to see if that might be close but there is someone who will know I'm sure.

The Maricopa (Piipaash) use swirls, but usually as border patterns around a pot.
The Tohono O'odham/Papago not so much. I'm sure Taupou will know.

I would agree that it's probably Maricopa. That interlocking swirl pattern is one of the main identifying features, found on lots of Maricopa pottery. And the book Dirt for Making Things, by Janet Stoeppelmann and Mary Fernald, actually shows a photo of a bowl with a different design than this on the inside, but what looks like that same type of freehand swirling lines on the outside.

That's another main feature of Maricopa pottery, the forms and design patterns are seldom duplicated. It's fairly easy to identify as Maricopa, but every piece seems to be unique.

It's possible, though, that it is Tohono O'odham. In his book Southwestern Pottery, Anasazi to Zuni Allan Hayes says that Maricopa "is really nothing more than O'odham pottery copied and improved upon." He points out that they were allies, shared a reservation, ideas, and made similar pots. But one difference is in the craftsmanship of the pottery. Maricopa pots tend to have a smoother, more even-polished surface, while O'odham pots often show polishing marks. (And I can't really tell if that's what I'm seeing in the photos.) But definitely from southern Arizona, Maricopa or O'odham.
