Letter opener marked Sola?

    The markings suggest European silverplate. The 30 in a circle is the giveaway.

    Somewhere around here I have some fruit knives with ceramic handles that I think are marked SOLA.

    It is 90 not 30. Any difference?

    Absolutely - the 90 is better plating than 30, by a long shot.

    Quadruple plate was a misnomer, so I wouldn't equate them. Here's an article on the subject you should read.

    Borne is around the corner from where I live. And I have a nice SOLA bottle opener. 2017-03-03 03.56.29.jpg

    The beehive refers to the honey production Borne is known for. The crown was added to the crest in 1957.
    So the letter opener is post-1957, no doubt these are still being made.
