    I’m getting to prefer the jumbles to the carboots. 1.Don’t have to get up so early. 2.Usually held for a good cause. 3.Time to chat with other Jumblies in the queue and make some new friends. 4.A lot of dealers seem to avoid them as they prefer Auctions and Jumbles are seen as low rent so opportunities to find a treasure. 6.Everything is so cheap!

    We keep on checking houses for sale around us.
    Not that we want to move, but just to see what's in it, listen to the people's story and then ask what is going to happen to the content.
    And it works, from time to time.
    We haven't got that "yard sale " spirit over here like they got in the US, so this is my way of dealing with it.
    And today I found this original little stack rack with content for 50 euro;

    These were the days when you were taught how to count back change properly, a skill I rarely encounter now.

    Yes and I still do that which of course amazes the one you help and you sure are right about dumping change into your hand! When did counting stop? Was there a memo I missed?
    THEN they’re impatient while you try to straighten it out to get the coins into your pocket and the bills in order and into your wallet! :p

    From two things one; or it was cheap, or there wasn't much...

    All of the above. There wasn't much there, apparently they'd had another sale, and what was left wasn't worth much or was so filthy no one was going to pay much. The guy brought in jewelry and coins from another estate, but there was no way I was paying his prices. Everything was priced in bulk lots, and I think he was trying to get the price of his plastic cases back too. The cases were the best part. He said "I've got beads", but they were Hobby Lobby/Joann beads and glass pearls.
