Staying healthy is paramount. Besides that, plan to pull out of my group shop this year. Lease is up at the end of May, so plan to call it quits then. Business is down and I am not buying these days. Just surviving on my hoard... inventory, which really hasn't been too difficult. Hope to continue to whittle away at the hoard and get back into selling on ebay again. Need to finish remodeling a family inherited house and get it sold this Spring/Summer. Looks like full retirement gets put off another year.

Yeah, 2020 was great for making a few superb acquisitions and learning a heck of alot. Loved that part of it!

Need a good source of income for 2021. Thanks to Covid my business is falling apart with no sign of recovery. Like Brad, there's no retirement this year. Nancy's $600 is an insult.

Wishing the best for all of you!

Wales now has an independence movement too. It is still small compared to Scotland, but growing day by day.
Scotland would be my first choice though.
(Wales, no offence intended, you're beautiful :shame:)

I think London would make an excellent nation state. Although, if Scotland secedes and then rejoins the EU, I'd be eligible for Scottish and hence EU citizenship. Excellent.

I'm sorry, but I can't just let this slide.
Back in May, the House under Speaker Nancy Pelosi passed the Heroes Act, which would have authorized a second payment of $1200 for every individual making up to $75,000, $2400 for a couple making up to $150,000, and an additional $1200 for up to 3 dependents in a household. The bill also would have extended the additional $600 per week for unemployment benefits. That bill died in the Republican Senate. The Democrats have been arguing for more in direct payments for months. $600 was all they could finally get Mitch to agree to.

National identity is very interesting to me as a concept, but not something to which I can emotionally relate. It was the 2016 referendum that I was thinking of (Wales and England voted differently from Scotland there ;) ) I love London, it’s a city that has made me, but I’m too poor to stay and I want to at least live somewhere that has a highly educated population...to quote A. N. Wilson, the Scottish people are renown as “an overeducated race” :)

Not really a goal but a hope... to go outside to a store without a mask and see a strangers smile.
Goal: to paint my house and edit the small collection of glass and porcelain I've acquired this year so I can aquire more!

My goal is to get back on my bicycle for a long distance bike tour this summer, and, feeling safe to go into out-of-town antique stores, stupidly buy more pottery and more baskets and more such stuff to ridiculously add to my over-stuffed panniers and then carry the rest of the journey.

Makes a great memory and a good metaphor!

You could come to where I live, in the east of Dutch Brabant. Our region was voted smartest region of the world in 2011::smug:

And yes, most people speak English, plus the region attracts many ex-pats.

(Of course Hollanders think we Brabanders are stupid, which is why we should have independence as well. Our Flemish and Belgian Brabant neighbours are welcome to join us.)
