    Is there a facility for obtaining information relating to registered pattern numbers from Silver & Plated items?

    I have what I would describe as a sugar spoon with "Rd 265922" on its shaft

    The design was registered in 1895, based on the number. Posting pictures of the both the front and back of the whole spoon would probably help find it,.

    Okay, so we have an electroplated pattern. I am not in the UK, so I am not familiar with a way to use the number to find the pattern name (assuming there is one, which is often not the case,) But I do believe that some of our UK members may be able to find the maker from the number. So I am hoping one will be able to help you.

    @Ownedbybear perhaps?

    On the end of the back of the spoon it looks like it says either BP or BF and NS.......

    Yes, I saw that.. my question was regarding any possibility of a facility or book for identifying these marks.. if there is such a book or facility for identifying the maker from these registration numbers I would be eternally grateful for the knowledge of such

    When a design was registered it protected the design for 3 years. It could be used for quite a few years though, if the design was popular as MT says. It was not only used on silver and silver plated items but on china, jewellery etc; as long as the manufacturer registered the design.
