Clearing out some stuff and came across these pieces - I'll spread them over several posts.
    Any information appreciated
    thanks for looking:)
#1 Marked Chritian Dior 1965 Germany - does this mean made in 1965? What would the stones be? How would I describe this style?

#3 is a Speidel ID bracelet, marked on the clasp, looks like STG or STE over something then TA - could this be sterling, the gold colour has rubbed/worn away in places, magnet doesn't stick? I wasn't able to find this mark.

#4 first nations pendant, pewter, magnet doesn't stick? Only mark is National Museum Canada

#5 carved antler (?) bracelet marked Innsbruck. Discolouration/staining from the brass rings, is there a way to remove this or leave it?

The first one, I would just say "stamped Chr. Dior 1965 Germany". The fact that it was made in Germany and the design suggests mid 60's. People will recognize the 1965 stamp, so be sure to put that in your title. If you can somehow show the clasp and the pendant at the same time in your first photo I think that would be good. The fancy clasp is another selling point. You can describe as "green and blue glass cabochons". As for the goldtone necklace part, maybe someone else could come up with a term. Rope? Mesh? Rope-mesh necklace? Here is a Dior one with similar cabochons:

I think #2 is newer than #1, but not sure you need to date these with precision. The Dior name will get all the attention. I'd mention "marked in three places" for this one. Also "rhinestones, enamel". But the damage on the main stone will hurt value. Hopefully the Dior name will trump that.

Some of the Speidel's bracelets do seem to be sterling, I'm terrible with abbreviations for sterling, so wait for others.

The museum piece probably isn't sterling.... would think it would be marked if yes since the rest is so clearly marked but who knows.

Innsbruck bracelet is really cool. I think I'd just sell as is and mention the discoloration. My guess is it is might be impossible to clean --- but maybe someone has a trick.

The Israel piece. Hmmm. Could be red glass or coral. Maybe someone else will have a thought. Nice that it is sterling and can be a pin or pendant.

Have not heard of Star-Art, but agree it looks well made. Also don't know the last one.

I think your best piece in the lot is #1. Great group!

wonderful information, thank-you Lucille:) Wowser on that bracelet you linked, that is a lot of money. I don't think I paid much for this stuff, all plus more was in a box-lot sale, have had them for at least a year and just getting around to looking at them. Rope sounds like a good term.
Holly, this is the discolouration I'm talking about, look green from the brass bit rubbing on it.

It's a vintage bracelet. I wouldn't worry about it. I've run across Star-Art before; it's one of the American names from the 40s until I'm told the 1980s. No one seems to know much about them other than that they made good pieces. Some of it's sterling and some gold-filled.

Dior number two was made by Grosse for them, that clasp is unmistakable. 1980s ish. I have a very similar one. I've also got a Grosse signed necklace with the same clasp.

In the mid-60s things were usually marked W. Germany or GDR. The design may be copyright mid-60s but manufacture probably after reunification.

thanks Evelyb30:) yes, I found the same information on Star-Art, I agree, they made nice pieces.

thanks bear, I'll check out the name Grosse:)
thanks komokwa:) could be sterling, I just thought if sold through a museum it would be marked, but maybe not. I'm still looking to see if I can find others

thanks Bronwen:) I agree with usually marked as such, but not everything, I have/had pottery and glass that was still marked Germany during that time, no idea on jewelry though, have to check out the marks.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

The only thing I see on that Canadian Museum whale are what look like some tiny marks....as circled a ‘58’ and what looks to me like small Caps ‘RR’......neither well defined....and don’t even know if they have any relevance......

All three are a different shade of (orangey) red, which generally means coral. The slightly matte surface also looks like coral.
Coral can be polished to a high gloss, but it mostly looks like these cabs, a very soft tactile look.

I suspect the cute killer whale is pewter, as you thought.

The discolouration on the antler bracelet is there to stay, a result of many years of rubbing by the brass rings. You could sand it off, but I wouldn't advise it. I don't think a buyer would be bothered by it.

thanks Aquitaine:) I've been looking at it with a loupe and there is an indent in the metal, can't make out any marks.

thanks AJ:) yes, I'm thinking pewter too.
I won't be attempting any sanding, lol, I'd break it for sure.
