Can u tell us where it came from ? Eg. ....family....2nd hand store...???

It was given to me by my sister. I believe it belonged to her boyfriends mother, possibly grandmother. They are from NC as far as I know.

 

Child's oak rocker, ca. 1900-1925.

 

Hello. Can you tell me why this might be a child's rocker? The chair is 37" in height. Seat is 16" from the floor & is 16" in width. Would this be appropriate dimensions for a child's chair? Thank you

 

Yes, these dimensions would work for a child's rocker. Sewing rockers tend to be a bit larger with the seat a bit higher.

Nevertheless, you can still call this a sewing rocker if you wish. Unfortunately, rockers in general have lost most of their value to the point that some antique ones can't be given away. Whether you call it a child's rocker or a sewing rocker will not affect the value, which in my part of the U.S. Midwest would be around $25 on a good day.
