I would have it blasted (Glass bead) then I would season it like a cast iron frying pan. Then it would be my go to meat tenderizer.

 

Or you could crack nuts with it.....

 

Over here auctioneer's use them too.

 

A cast iron one might get a little heavy, and if not would dent the rostrum/podium if not crack it. Odd are it's meant as a paperweight, although it would make a nice husband-convincer.

 

Cast iron is fairly brittle. If it were used much, I think there's a good chance the handle would break.

(Probably one reason there aren't more of them.)

 

Not really a find, but it's what I found to do with some of the bits @gregsglass put in my Santa box (and no the spike isn't going to be a pendant)

More like FN, although neither is an F or an N; they're runes.

They're not something I'd wear, runes being used for fortune-telling, but someone else will.

Me too,but I despair of EVER finding a piece of art that fits a normal frame ! Stacks of frames in my closet,and NOT ONE fits ! Aaarrgghh!

I like school woodshop projects by kids and I LOVE this one and by the date it may be the oldest I have. I have used this in the past to hold ties but it's stored now.
The monk candle has had his book bumped. Anyone have ideas on how to fix that?
Of course I LOVE the Navy piece though the 'cage' mast dates it to pre and into WWII

Maybe you can find one of those blade type frame/stock slicers used.
A fabulous thing to have and add to it the corner clip press.

 

I bought this at GW and did not know what its use was. (minus that flower thingy)

I got it to hold things while working on them and for adhesives to dry.
These things are stiff yet flexible.
(don't do it Komo.....)

I paid $3+ and it's worth about $15.
It's about 9"x 9" and for drying dishes!!!

Since water was to be involved...I'll have to say.......I'll re-porpoise it....
