Hey everyone. I just picked up this sheet music cabinet/stand for $25. The seller said it was made from Rosewood however to me the wood looks to be mahogany. The single drawer has dovetail joints. It's quite light and shows very honest wear through it life. Supposedly 100+ years old. Originally came from Vancouver B.C. No label left on it, there is a few pressed number on the back panel. The numbers are 230 and 21. I'm gonna assume maybe model and year?

I'm currently fixing the flip down door that was recently broken by the owner. Very simple glue job since it was a very clean break.

Just gotta ask the community if it's a good idea to go ahead and restore this piece? I was planning on using Howards Restor-A-Finish on it to bring some life back to the wood. I'm not too focused on financial gain from this piece since I'm sure it's not worth more than $100 but if it was that bad of an idea, please let me know.

Agree that it looks like mahogany that someone has stripped much of the stain out of. Form makes me think British but suppose it could be Canadian.
