Can anyone tell me if these are Czech or Venetian glass beads please? Also is it Art Deco? I'm seeing lots of wedding cake and millfiore beads online but nothing quite like these. 32inches long. Can't remember where I got them, probably Charity Shop. Thanks.

The flower-shaped ones look like Italian trade beads, but those were strung in Europe or the US. Beyond that, dunno.

I do not see any wedding cake beads. This is some of what I get Googling Glass Wedding Cake Beads, note they have applied decoration:

Thanks evelyb, I'm in UK so it's likely strung in Europe as you say.
I've been looking for the past hour and realise what a huge amount of beads there are and that I have to learn about. There are some big prices for antique examples? Most of what I'm seeing are striped down the bead rather than across like mine. I'm assuming that is a more difficult manufacturing process but I'm guessing.

Sorry, please read again. I meant I wasn't seeing this type online only the wedding cake or millfiore. I know these ones aren't either.

I don't think Art Deco. Vintage for sure, maybe 60's-70s? Hard to say whether Venetian or not. The beads are a bit rough looking in a certain kind of way, but look hand done. They are linked with metal links which took someone some work rather than just sending everything through a cord. Vintage necklaces I've had with that metal link type of construction always had slightly nicer beads. I think it is an attractive piece.

It's probably 1970s, judging by other pieces made the same way.

I think your beads were repaired. Notice the bright brass color connecting the blue beads, then notice the steel color connecting the the older colored sections.

Also look at the quality of the faceted blue glass beads. They are different. The sections of blue beads with brass connectors are newer than the section with the colored beads capped by blue beads.

I suspect the original necklace was long - close to opera length. I don't know for certain, but I have always thought this type of beaded necklace was from the 1930s.
I have some old ones put together the way your colored ones are, that an antique dealer gave me when I was about 12. She told me they were from India. Whether she knew what she was talking about, I have no idea. However, whenever I see beads like these, that is what I think of.

Lovely beads, Houseful, great colours. I suspect Venetian.
Although the colours are similar to many trade beads, these are not considered trade beads.
I also thought 1930s, but costume is not my forte. The necklace looks like it could have been longer, and possibly the single blue beads added later. The clasp is also a replacement, but that is not unusual, clasps break.

I think between the wars Czech. The colours are typical as are the poure layers.

Agree a bit of a mish mash going on here.

I thought at first maybe they ran out of chunky beads regarding the blue beads but I can see why someone might put smaller beads specifically for the neck area as less bulky and would look and sit better.

Thanks cluttered, I haven't even looked at Indian beads yet. The connectors have been well matched if there are older and newer here, I suppose it could be that some areas have corroded more than others.

Thanks, I'll have a closer look at the Czech. I've really just concentrated on Venetian, tunnel vision set in.

As AJ said a probable replacement clasp maybe 70s there. Its difficult because there's nothing I can find online that looks much like them.

I've had a closer look Cluttered. You are right, the brass connectors are different but the blue glass beads are the same. It's a bad photo in that area, sorry. Anyway I agree the necklace has been rather cobbled together.
Thanks to all for your input.

I agree with Any J. It's been put together in a nice way that is certainly wearable today.
