So many nice finds over the years and so many sold off as well. This forum is full of great stuff.

One of the more interesting free items (that I kept) is this curbside Jesus, found about 1990. It was in pieces in a box. The arms and some fingers had cleanly snapped off. The individual rays were separated from its support. The head had been sawn off.

I restored it and have enjoyed it ever since.

I repainted it to match the original, leaving the hair, eyes and lips as found. The challenging part was mixing a flesh color. Replacing the sliver of wood from the saw cut was easier.

    It's 30" tall x 24" wide.

    Thanks.

I remember that I was on my way to work and stopped at a large pile of trunks and boxes. I only had a few minutes to spare and filled my car with all that would fit and was on my way. It was a house with a large garage, next to a funeral parlor. Good times!

    James.

Stopped in $avers on my way home, found this painting by James Whitbeck, New England artist. $4.99+

Edit: had it as David but it’s James.

Native American rings (edited from "generic southwestern" per @evelyb30's comment) No stamped marks. Faint 184 on the back the coral one. There were 8. The others were snapped up by a reseller, so I guess the price was good. I was looking at @Hollyblue's link (Turquoise Mines – Waddell Gallery) to find the source and I got lost. Update: The reseller who bought the other ones said they were 1960/70's Native American and that the 184 mark was magic marker put on them by the Trading Post as inventory numbers.

Kiko got some goodies this week too. Those sharpie numbers are either inventory or price tags, depending. I've seen both.

They almost always mean "the real deal". I've never seen that kind of marking on "southwestern" pieces.

I'll edit my post then! From Southwestern pieces to Native American. Thank you.

Going to an auction at a hoarder's house tomorrow. Hopefully I am able to find some good stuff amidst the clutter. My father is going to love digging through the lots of tools. In the auction photos posted online I saw something like 6 riding lawn mowers so it is going to be an extreme hoarding situation.

Why edit from SW to NA? There's nothing on them that makes them NA made.
