Elephant wood carving help

    Hi, I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out with this elephant sculpture carving. I have no idea if it's old or not. But it looks like it.

    Used to get carvings from Indonesia made of this same wood. Might be a place to consider. Doubt it is all that old.

    Ok that's what my first instinct was it was possibly from that area. What type of wood would you say it is?

    but with that felt....it may be as far back as the 70's...
