Salt Spoon?

Does anyone know what this is?

I was thinking maybe a salt spoon but unsure.

 

Size? Any markings on the back??? If so, a clear close-up would be lovely!! Thanks!

Salt spoons do not have sifting holes.

Is there a mark on the back of the handle?

 

Maybe an olive spoon?

 

What is the size? As a note, there are individual salt sifter spoons, but this would be an unusual form and appears too large...

I think it has 800 wrote on the back of the handle and is a little bigger than a tea spoon.

 

Figured it was probably German - odd that the sections of the 'acorn' seem to be so divided, not sure of use, olive spoon certainly a possibility, or something else needing draining, but it has nothing to do with salt...

It's probably just a novelty shape, but acorns can be eaten, and roasted acorns are served salted:

holes are too small....u need the big slits..and something to keep the shape of the yolk..

 

it is German. the rose is called Hildesheimer Rose after a rosebush at the Hildesheim Dome that is said to be more than thousand years old.
