My first thought was a sweater guard, but the chains make me question that assessment.

There's 6 chains and they range from 8" to 10" across. Seems a little bit too much to have hanging on your sweater. The leaves are 1" x 1-3/4" each.

C clasp on the leaves and no signature anywhere.

I think you are right to question sweater guard. In most instances, sweater guards had clips, rather than pins, to allow easy removal. These delightful little pins may fall into the category of scatter pins, to be artfully arranged on one side of a garment or collar point to collar point on a blouse, with the chains draped between.
I could see them worn on a hat also, for a touch of whimsy.

It's a chatelaine pin. It was never meant to hold anything; they just borrowed the name.

    Thanks sandra & evelyb!

Chatelaine pin, huh, that's kind of a confusing name to give it. Thank you; at least I know how to list it now.

Evelyb, how would it be worn? Across the chest area or higher / lower?

Any way you wanted to. The ones with single chains are sometimes used as eyeglass holders.
