I haven't had much luck in my searches for this stopper. It came with an Imperial Cape Cod decanter but it didn't fit it correctly even thought the stopper is a close match to the pattern. I've searched Cape Cod decanters and couldn't find a stopper like this one. I've searched google images for glass decanters in hopes to finding a stopper like this to no avail. It has 12 round thumbprints. 3 1/4" in height. Approximately 2 1/4" diameter. Feels heavy but only weighs a little of 9 ounces. Any help would be greatly appreciated. GlassStopper.JPG

Much sympathy, but no help here. Stoppers are the worst. I have some I've kept for 40+ years. They aren't huge; they aren't tiny; they are all just beautiful, and real crystal. Have they ever fit anything of mine?

    Never!

At one time...I displayed a bunch of odd but pretty stoppers in a cut glass bow...made a nice display ! I also put a few in my potted plant pots..also pretty..

They really do make nice accents in the pots! Just watch placement of pots so as to be careful of sun coming through the prism ones....can act like a magnifying glass and burn surfaces !

I've had luck selling stoppers on eBay. Can usually get at least $9.99 for them. The last one I sold went to Australia.

Many long years ago, I bought an open box lot of 20 or so assorted stoppers at an antiques store that was going out of business. I was able to use maybe 3 of them myself, and I sold the rest of them individually on eBay. As Don mentioned, they sold quite well. (My initial "investment" in the lot was covered by my first sale.)

Lately, I've been looking for one to fit a cruet I have - I actually don't care if it matches or not, as long as it FITS.

I've found that many folks on eBay don't mention the DIAMETER of the "business end" of the stopper. To me, that's far more important than the height of the thing OR the diameter of the ornamental top. If it doesn't FIT in whatever container I have, it doesn't matter how pretty or tall it is!

Thanks all. I may just throw against the eBay wall and see if it sticks.

I can understand that SBSVC. It definitely makes sense to have bottom an top diameter of the ground stopper part plus all other pertinent info.

I'm still not receiving notifications :banghead:
