Jade ? Bead Strand

I bought this strand of beads about 15 years ago and have always wondered if it's real jade. There is no clasp - just a strand of slightly graduated beads with knots in between. I have looked at the beads with a loupe and see particles inside the bead (I read the previous question about jade and saw the comment that inside real jade, you should see thread-like features), and they are not completely smooth on the outside, but have natural-looking imperfections. The beads stay very cold, even in the summer. The largest ones are about 16-17mm. Any thoughts are appreciated.

 

Nice beads, but not jade, those flecks are rather of aventurine for me.

They look to me more like they could be green aventurine. Until someone who knows about jade takes a look, you might want to look at images of that stone as well as of 'nephrite' & 'jadeite' & see how you think your beads compare. You have the best view.

 

And I was checking photos & writing while you 2 got in. Well that's consensus for you.

Aventurine for me too. I can't always pick up real jade from a photo; aventurine is a lot easier.

 

For what it's worth...
These beads look absolutely identical to a strand brought back from India by my ol' man's grandfather in the 1970s when he was on Sabbatical there.
