Featured Men's Gold and Diamond Ring

Hi all,

This ring belonged to James Winn, the husband of Molly Winn. Molly was the step daughter of General Marshall and owned the house until she sold it as a museum.

The ring is 10 carat gold with seven diamonds encircling the center (size unknown). The inner band says "10K Magic-Glo".

Does anyone know what Magic-Glo is or if there is anything of interest on the ring itself? Thanks! (Excuse the bad quality of the photos, we use a phone to take the pics)

 

I believe Magic-Glo would be the name of the company that made the ring. A Google search for Magic-Glo vintage ring turns up a quite a few vintage rings marked that way listed on Ebay and such.

 

I have found a reference stating that "Magic-Glo was a trademark of the LeRoy Jewelry Co, part of Sterling Jewelers" used on mid grade rings sold through a variety of jewelry stores.

Yes, Magic Glo was the manufacturer's name of Le Roy Jewelry Co, in Akron. They were manufactured up until the 1980's, and according to Trademarkia, their copright was not renewed after 1996. They are real diamonds and gold, not costume jewelry.

 

Definitely fine jewellery, just look at the setting of the stones.

 

It may be "fine jewelry" but "Magic Glo" sounds like a Grumbacher product. For marking jelly jars, or labeling camp trunks!

Whoever thought of the name Magic-Glo for fine jewellery should have been sacked on the spot.
