Featured Is this a print or a watercolor? -- Close-up shots

You think I'd be better at this, but don't do too much reselling of art.

Checking Ebay, prints by this artist have edition numbers, this does not. I suppose could be some kind of copy of a watercolor. Back is stamped from the artist's gallery.

Was thinking watercolor, then thinking print, the paper has a texture so not sure if I'm seeing "little dots" or just the texture of the paper.

Are these photos good enough to make a determination one way or the other? Thanks.

Have you taken it off the frame and looked for pencil marks that lead off the edge that the frame covers? I think watercolors are often sketched out in pencil first.

 

Prints from watercolors on watercolor paper are the most difficult to detect. Even pencil marks within the body of the work may not tell the story, as they will be reproduced as well. A look at the margins may help. Otherwise, it may not be possible for us to tell anything from a photo.
