Anyone have any thoughts on the mark on this ring? It tested over at 14K but I know it looks like it could say 10K? Ruby tested as ruby but I know it could be lab created as well. Thanks for looking!

Where did you test for gold content,in the photo it appears that the lower 1/3rd of the shank could have been replaced.

My thoughts are that that is my birthstone, so I can take it off your hands. Lovely.

Well the "white stone accents" are diamonds - testing as diamonds. I did test the gold as strong 14K but only in one place. Let me try a couple of different places.

I do think DASON is a great possibility. I think there is a letter missing - there does appear to be a slight impression of a missing letter. Thank you!

I have a gold testing kit. Tests at 10K, 14K then 18K. Showed very strong reaction at 10K, strong reaction at 14K and basically no reaction at 18K. White stones tested as diamond.

What do you use to test your stones?
All I have is a cheapo Diamond Selector II device which would not be sensitive enough to differentiate between diamond (10), white sapphire (9), or moissanite (9.5), or possibly even CZ (8.5), which are all high on the MOHS scale.
I need something better but still affordable.

Your tester uses thermal conductivity and hardness doesn't matter.

Thanks, yes, I knew the numbers didn't represent the MOHS scale. Sorry I was unclear!

I use a Presidium Duo Tester PDT Diamond Gemstone Tester. Pricey but good.
