Nice find, if a bit creepy. I'm not sure I'd want a medical office piece in the house. Too many bad associations.

Would be even more creepy if it were from one of the big (now demolished) state institutional hospitals or a sanitarium. Apparently there is a market for creepy from what I've heard.

Yep, there is. I am not part of it. I can appreciate the aesthetic and the appeal without sharing it. I'd liken the reaction to getting food poisoning from a dish and never wanting to eat it again even though you know it's safe.

It is the very same chair as showed on the post card on the same post.
That makes the catch even more thrilling (to me that is!)!
Coming from a Belgian private hospital in Brussels.
And it is less crepy as it seems knowing the hospital was a ophthalmic hospital.

It is clear that the maker of the chair didn't care much for the comfort of the patient...

Looks like the chair I sat on while the doctor removed my tonsils.

Texas Ware confetti/splatter melamine mixing bowls can often approach and even exceed $100 selling prices. The more colorful the better. I am hoping for a good return on my 99 cent investment!

They can certainly fetch very good prices; and are quite good bowls for use...I've got an old one from my Mom that I still use.

They vary a great deal in color; mine is a pretty uniform beige....probably makes it much less valuable; I've never checked whether color influences value.:bag:

Three antique bangles. First is aesthetic period silver with applied gold. Second gold washed silver-not sure of the age. Third is unmarked 9ct aesthetic period.
