1944 10k gold university medical pendant sapphire

    Is this a blue sapphire or glass, I don't know how to tell ?

    Billy, the DDS is for the university's DENTAL SCHOOL.

    The blue could be glass, or it could be synthetic, but I would highly doubt it's a real sapphire. One of my own school rings has a blue stone, and mine is synthetic.

    Synthetic is my best guess too; they generally are unless they're mother of pearl or onyx.
