HELP IDENTIFY TRIBE CARVED STATUE OF PREGNANT WOMAN CAME FROM

    I believe this is real tribal instead of tourist tribal carved statue mainly because they carved the woman's privates into it & I don't think they would do that to a piece meant to be sold to a tourist - but I could be wrong.

    I think the bent legs are a clue and used in a tribe's carvings but I can't remember it. Also the scarification on her face.
    But what does the "outie" belly button mean?

    Can someone tell me where this is from? And if it was tribal used?

    I think she might be Chokwe. I have a mask that looks like her face.

    yes...nice Chokwe carving. That hair style is from Angola .
    looks like she's holding a couple of N.Korean ballistic missiles there ! :woot:


    ....& yes ...Africans carve sex, like you're not used to...:rolleyes:

    ever since Expo 67.....at the PNG exhibit , i've understood that only in repressed..oppressed religious societies are we taught to see the human body & sex as vulgar, unclean, & shameful......

    But...here's one at Stanford U....
