I spotted this pretty coffee cup in a store recently and am intrigued to know who made it, and when. Does anyone recognize the maker’s mark?

Looks like it might be a decorator mark over top of the name of whoever made the blank.

Suspect it is meant to be a bee.

    I bet it's French.

Can't help with the maker, but it is a really interesting cup and saucer. French is not a bad guess.

My recollection is that there is no sign of a mark beneath the insect but I may have missed it.

I thought it looked like a fly but thought, as you do, that it was possibly meant to be a bee since a fly seems an unlikely choice of emblem.

I have a real feeling of having seen it elsewhere on the WWW, possibly on this site, so I was hoping someone would identify it.

the allusion to Napoleon with the bee (or cicada...) and the Limoges blue is nice. I wouldn't know the factory though.
