Who can tell me exactly what this is and where it comes from?

I recently purchased this a typical stick dagger. It is 38cm in length and can be pulled into two halves the bottom half then has a spear like dagger.

so, at about 15 inches....a whip handle with spike....would be my 1st thought....
but for any further musings , i'd need to see a clear close up...

 

Agree that more and better photos needed. From here it looks quite busy, possibly a fantasy souvenir instead of something actually intended for use. Anyway don’t take it in car or carry it around, if unfortunate enough to be stopped by popo you risk concealed weapon charges depending on where you are.

the pics make it look a lot nicer...and older.....
how do the two sides come apart......twist...screw....?

 

The two sides come apart by just pulling them apart, so no bayonet or screw fitting. The small bottom part also comes apart by just pulling them apart.

 

The decorative touches are so dainty, like daisies and you'd be pushing them up if this was stuck in you. I'd research that particular trait of design. Very cool piece.

 

Is it silver? Are there any marks?

 

I think it is copper or brass, it has no marks

 

can i suggest that this is some type of pipe...?

WOW!! Fascinating, Beautiful and Nasty, ALL at the SAME time!!!!! A drop of poison on the tip of that dagger and as @Caribou's House said....you'd be pushing up the proverbial daisies rather quickly, methinks!!!!
