    Hi all
First of all, thanks for the help identifying my last item. You were all a great help but I need your help again. Does anyone know what this is. It has an ornate cast iron base with brass handle that turns a toothes brass disc which in turn turns 2 metal prongs that stick out. Only thing we can think of is a thread bobbin winder.

PS, when posting photos, there is an option to use "full-size" and you should always click that box; it is easier for readers. You may still have time to go to your post above, click edit, and select full-size.
I'd agree it is a winder of some sort.

I have only a few thoughts to offer. It is well made. The brass has a nice patina. It may be part of a patent model. It may be part of a learning tool for scientific principle. It may be part of a salesperson's sample.

    J. Parkinson Bury pops up as an English inventor with several patents.
