I believe this is a celluloid opera hand fan. I see numerous names to describe it but want to be accurate before listing.
    My questions are:
    1. What era?
    2. How do I describe this marbled, pearlized fan?
    3. Opera fan?
    4. Celluloid?
    5. Do I describe it as butterscotch, amber, yellow?

The blades are 6" x .875" with ribbon connecting the blades together. The connector is .625" below the blades and 1.375" in total. When open it is 10.75". It is unmarked, so no maker can be identified. Thank you for your help and Happy Thanksgiving!

To my eye, that would be modern plastic designed to imitate mother of pearl. Here's one (from Spain, which I suspect is the origin of yours) whose sticks are made of something similar. Let's see what others say.

How does the ribbon that is holding it together look? Is it old or new looking?

Agree, modern faux mother of pearl, and probably from Spain. Very useful, but not a collector's item.
The technical term for this type of fan with blades held together by a ribbon or cord is brisé fan.

Want to add... Given the plastic's yellow cast, could be vintage. 1970s maybe.
