I'm confused - did he detail why the initials belong to either party, and why the monogram in the Princess Royal's garter would bear the same initials as the godfather rather than her own, and if so, could you share that with us? Personally, have no issue with the script letter in the garter being an 'F' rather than a 'T', a cross-bar is usually the only difference between the two, but the first gothic initial under 'Godfather' is not the typical form for an 'F', but is for a 'J', and if the 'Frederick' is supposed to belong to Princess Victoria's great-uncle Augustus Frederick, where is the 'A', and where does the 'D' or 'W' come in?

I'd originally looked for the monograms to relate to the Princess Royal Victoria, who was always called by that name or 'Vicky', and didn't find it (which means nothing really, was only a cursory search) - but I did find an 1858 book on her life until marriage that bore a similar monogram clearly relating to her marriage to Prince Frederick William of Prussia, and they were known as the Prince and Princess Royal Frederick William before becoming the Emperor and Empress Frederick III.

It's a puzzle to me, and I'm just having a hard time figuring it out...

Thanks Cheryl , I appreciate you looking into it . The curator did not explain why that was the monogram which surprised me . I must admit I’m still confused myself about it .
I will keep researching I guess the monogram could have been added later by anyone else having the teapot ??
