    Have you used any polish on it? A sunshine cloth? How did you get the grime off?

    Thank you for this. I was looking at a cabochon three tiered necklace today that was said to be carnelian and an orange stone. The carnelians were a warm brownish red.

    Does look like there are letters inside.

    Just a sunshine cloth. I have polish but was told here never to use it.

    Well I could try a dab of polish on a q-tip?

    You could, just be careful not to goop it up or get any on the stones.

    OK. I'll go and see if I can find the polish. I may have thrown it away but I can get some tomorrow

    Really nice, Kiko!

    With all the purchases you make as a way to research and learn, it has paid off big time!
    Enjoy! :)

    Wright's Silver Cream, you put it on and polish with a damp sponge and rinse with water so no polish collects and dries to a crust in the crevices :)

    @Bronwen @Hollyblue
    Is this what to do? or perhaps the second one? I'll try again, if it isn't right.

    Try using the tip of a wooden toothpick on the mark, I usually nibble on the tip a bit to make it a bit damp, softer and broader, the wood won't hurt the silver (and enzymes in saliva are a gentle cleanser)...

    Thank you. Most of what I buy and post here or do my own research on goes back. I keep the special pieces. I will tell them what I found out, so they can attribute it and price it accordingly.

    OH. Great idea. The polish and q tip didn't make a difference.
