My 2nd favorite role of her's was in The Color Purple. Outstanding movie.

But my first favorite role was in Ghost. It was the last movie I saw in the cinema with my mother.

I saw an interview with her once, she said something like she either stars in mediocre movies or gets a small role in a great movie. I think she's right, he best work is in movies where she is not the "star".

I even like her mediocre movies ;)

I liked Whoopi in Sister Act.

Martha Stewart breathed life into the after market of EAPG Cake Stands that's still going. Not as strong as maybe 5 years ago, but still.

Now those TV celebs who influence home goods sales are slaves to their own brands or they're promoting Wayfair stuff. We could save more EAPG if they were more like Erin Napier of Home Town. She likes to use old stuff in her designs. She's very talented.

There is a cooking show called Farm Girl and her kitchen is filled with vintage cookware, pyrex, etc. It is so colorful and fun.

A few years ago when “Mad Men” was popular on TV I’d read about how Christina Hendricks enjoyed shopping for antiques (in general). About that time I was doing my Sunday perusing in one of my regular Pasadena, CA antique stores when I saw her with a saleslady. I don’t know what in particular she was looking at.

I used to get Architectural Digest, and there were many articles about Diane Keaton buying older, architectally noteworthy LA homes and fixing them up. Considering how many older LA homes have been torn down, I consider any publicity about celebrities buying old homes and restoring them a good thing.

There must be a celebrity who enjoys old clocks and vintage pottery as much as I do, but I haven’t heard about it...
