    They almost look like they would fit the Chinese ladies with folded feet who were carried everywhere!

    Hi,
    The shoes for Chinese ladies were shaped like a lotus leaf. The feet were twisted and bend down so the nails would be on the bottom. The only shoes that would fit were triangular. It was a horrible thing to be done. There is no way to walk even a few steps.

    They were called lotus shoes, because they were made for the 'golden lotus' feet. The feet were perceived as having the shape of a lotus flower, upside down I presume.

    A few years ago, I was researching a pin cushion shoe and I recall seeing a celluloid baby booty pin cushion. Does it look like something may have been on the inside?
