Hall coat stand

Hi could anyone confirm if this is a thonet stand or not . Can not fine any stamps but it is old

Buttons covering screws tells me that this is not old.

Whoops, @verybrad just got in before me with some pertinent info!!!!

 

In my experience Thonet usually produced free-standing hall trees, so this is not Thonet. Probably mid-to late-20th century. Loosely based on historical precedents.

I'm not sure if it isn't mortised with soft wood pins. the style looks around 1900. especially the small container for brushes is typical.

they existed but were scarce and often lost when the buildings were destroyed because the were fixed to the walls.
