I think I'd call myself more of a hobbyist antiquer. Most of the stuff I own isn't that exciting or expensive or rare. It's just pretty and cute.

Glad you like the belts. They're precious to me beyond measure. And yes, this place looks rather cushy. I also noticed it seems rather small. How long has this forum been around?

 

Shangas, You might hear more from daveydempsey or Peter about the length of time. My understanding is that the forum was started in 2012, but for some reason was taken down. Then in May 2014 it was restarted, partly because eBay was about to dramatically change its discussion boards and a lot of people on the Antiques board there were dissatisfied with the moderation. Many of the members of this forum are people who used to use the eBay boards a lot. But not everybody! This forum is seeing more and more members like you who are finding it.

So, long story short. It's really been growing for about the past seven months.

 

Only about 6 months since it was resurrected, thanks to Davey and Peter. We all needed a place to go after spending years on the old Ebay discussion boards. Started with maybe 40-ish members? Now over 300!

 

Well this does all sound very convivial, I must say.

I love your journey's to acquire the things your love, including the family heirlooms. You did a amazing job on the sewing machine and love the blue eye piece!
This is a great place to learn, I learn from nearly every posting, been a addict for years....

Thanks for clarifying... sometimes it is difficult to figure out a person's gender when in online forums. -- I'm female, and try to indicate that with my avatars, which almost always include a female in the picture.
