Thank you, sbsvc. Amazing to think that there would be that much difference in hammer prices for a piece that was offered online through proxibid two months prior, huh?

    congrats Danno!
Would the difference be due to the auction houses?

Thanks cxgirl! Since I purchased these items only two months prior, i believe that the price difference was attributable to the quality of the listing.

I was very pleased to see the provenance and purchase documentation arrive with most of these items. This was neglected in the original listing with just a couple of photos and brief decription. Additionally, the pieces were not dual listed in liveauctioneers which targets a more diverse group of international buyers. I think that I mentioned in a previous post that I also acquired an 18th century james giles, first period worcester platter for only $20. Again, this came with incredible provenance that was never shown. It was like a fire sale. Additionally, I called the auction house with lots of questions and seeking additional photos prior to the auction because the descriptions were simply inadequate.
