Sorry about the reflections. Original water signed D.A. Fisher, 1895. Unfortunately there are a lot of Fisher's, and I can't tell which one he is. Can anyone find any kind of biography on him, and whether his watercolors are desired? Image size 14"x10". I like it, but also wonder what he is showing? What are those big piles of something with a spike out of the top, in the marsh close to the bay?

Doesn't seem to be much about him beyond this.

"D. A. Fisher (1867 -1940) is known for his landscape paintings and lived in Maine and California."

Hmmph. How can they know when he was born and died, and where he worked, but not know his first name? Makes searching on liveauctioneers very time consuming.

Awesome. That is by far more information than I could find anywhere. "Brushians" - who knew??? So would they make a haystack like that in Maine in the 1890s? Boats and gulls look like the Maine I know.

Isn't that interesting? Same subject. "Marsh grass stalks." Here's the signature.

Thanks INH and Debora. I guess invaluable doesn't show you sold prices, unlike liveauctioneers. Makes registration on invaluable kind of pointless, unless I'm missing something. Anyway, research much appreciated!

Yours is a better work than the invaluable one. And always helpful to know location.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It always amazes me to realize all there is to learn. And, nice painting!
