If anyone ever comes across any Adderley Rosemary pattern coffee cups, do please think of this Bear. Ma had a set of six, with saucers, wedding presents, and a couple got broken over the years. I've scoured Ebay and other places, but you never know!

    Thankee kindly.

Alas. I don't think I've ever seen that pattern in person. Is it mid-60s? I did find some Susie Cooper cups, but they're post-War and lacked saucers. Bought 'em for a quarter apiece because it's the only time I've ever seen anything of hers at all. (sigh) We Americans are sadly deprived of British Art Deco dinnerware.

That's the pattern! It's much earlier: 1950 or so. I did get one from the US (!) by persuading a seller who didn't normally do international to ship the thing. The cups have gilded handles, very pretty.

Which Susie Cooper did you get? That, I can find fairly easily, but for some reason, the blasted Adderley pattern is hens' teeth in its rarity.

No clue. Just some random teacups with flowers on them. 50s stuff. I'll have to get some pictures and show you. The score of the week is probably going locally - six Meissen fruit plates, probably fairly recent.

Rosemary is a charming pattern -- but I wouldn't be able to use it for any food except perhaps scones with clotted cream and raspberry jam. Just possibly fluffy eggs and brioche...

    Pork chops? Not a prayer!

Dunno, but maybe Adderley wasn't a big producer, so that may account for the rarity.

They made a ton of teacups but maybe not dinnerware to go with them?

Here's the teacup, and one of those Meissen plates.[IMG] [IMG]

I've seen that Susie Cooper pattern before, but can't remember the name (as usual). I like the Meissen plates (score!) but haven't seen fruit painting like that.

I saw some labeled as 19th century, but I has me doubts. The paint colors and techniques are all wrong.
